The anchor plate below is used to support a vertical tension cable in a radio mast. It is bolted to the concrete base using four machined M12x1.75, SAE class 4.8 bolts. These bolts were tightened to 80% of their proof strength when fitted. The wind loading on the mast causes the tension in the cable to vary from 40 kN to 50 kN, and the joint stiffness is 5 times the bolt stiffness. Determine if the bolts have an infinite life based on the Nominal Mean Stress method and the Goodman Relationship. Assume that the fatigue strength of the steel bolts is Sn=0.85Sn'.
