A 6-pole, three-phase, star-connected, synchronous machine stator (armature) has 72 slots. The winding is of double-layer type having 30 turns per coil with a coil span of of pole-pitch. The flux per pole is 0.05 Wb. The armature current is 30 A per phase. Determine (a) The peak value of the fundamental air-gap mmf, Fm, due to phase-a winding. (b) The peak value of the fundamental component of the total mmf (that is, the resultant of the three mmfs).
